Similarities and Differences between Email and Postal Services

There are many similarities when it comes to Email and postal services. It is quite amazing actually, how Email can be so similar to real life mail, and it is definitely a testament on how Email is so widespread in general throughout society today. One thing Email has in common with postal services is the fact that they both have a mailbox. In postal services, the message, or mail needs to be delivered to some sort of mailbox to be transported to the right place. With emails, the same thing happens. You need to have the mailbox, which is the email system you're sending it through, like Gmail, to get the email to go where it needs to go.
Another way Email and postal services are similar are the addresses. In postal services, you need an address to mail to, or the mail will not be able to go anywhere. In Email, the same process must happen. If you do not have an address, mail will not be able to reach you. This "address" in email is your email address.
A third way Email and postal services are similar are the Chain Letters. In postal services, many companies will send unwanted mail to your address, and the same sort of thing will happen in Email. In Email, there is a  junk folder, put in place specifically to sort unwanted emails and make them harder to be read.
Although Email and postal services are very similar, they do have a few differences too. For one, postal services are physical, and email are electronic messages. Another difference is that since email is electronic, it is sent to the receiver almost instantly, while physical mail sometimes you will have to wait a week or more to receive mail.
